The project, initiated and funded by the Academy for Heroes NGO, involves Lviv Polytechnic selecting veterans and providing teachers for the training. The program will run for 10 months, during which veterans will learn the basics of programming, quality assurance (QA), and project management in IT. The curriculum also includes intensive English language training and development of essential soft skills required for working in a team of IT professionals.

According to Oleksiy Druhov, head of the Academy for Heroes NGO and professor at the Lviv Polytechnic’s Department of Organization Management, the aim of the training is to help those who were heroes in war transition into decent careers in civilian life.

The project is actively supported by the IT company Every Matrix, which will offer veterans opportunities to practice and develop projects at its facilities, and potentially hire those who excel during the training. Other leading IT companies are also expected to join the project and offer employment to veterans.
