“One of the key modern trends is the integration of artificial intelligence into the educational process,” – Nataliia emphasised. According to her, artificial intelligence can not only be used to generate content, but also to help students personalise their own educational pathways.
Nataliya highlighted the importance of new educational programmes being introduced in higher education institutions. She believes that fields such as quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and robotics are critical for preparing students to tackle real-world challenges and fostering youth development. “At the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, an exciting quantum computing programme has been launched, while Lviv Polytechnic offers programmes in artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), and robotics.”
Nataliya also mentioned the importance of developing both technical and soft skills in students. “Soft skills are just as critical for IT professionals as technical knowledge. The ability to work in a team, present your ideas and products, and communicate effectively with colleagues are incredibly valuable skills,” – Nataliya said.
Regarding technical skills, Nataliya remarked that the level of expertise previously considered sufficient for employment is now regarded as barely basic. This is recognised by IT companies themselves, which is why the requirements for candidates are constantly growing amid the current downturn in the IT sector. For example, even though choosing a programming language can be challenging, Nataliya believes that this is no longer a key factor for success: “Today, what matters more is the ability to integrate various technologies and work on complex projects, rather than the specific programming language you use.”
It should be noted that Nataliya Shakhovska has been actively supporting the development of the Academy for Heroes since its inception, helping to create modern IT training programmes for our veterans-turned-heroes. We extend our gratitude for her invaluable contribution to the growth of our project and wish her continued success in all her future endeavours.
