Vilma Fuentes Visits Veterans

On October 28, the Center for Veteran Development at Lviv Polytechnic National University received a special guest – Vilma Elisa Fuentes, PhD in Political Science from the University of Florida. She is the new program director of the Ukrainian Task Force, which is responsible for facilitating connections between Ukrainian universities and faculty from the former Soviet Union within the Learning Systems Institute.

The veterans welcomed Ms. Fuentes, had a chance to talk to her in a warm atmosphere, and learn about her career, personal development, some of her family life, and even her favorite song.
Dr. Vilma Fuentes shared her interesting experience of working with veterans in the United States, spoke about social support and training programs, and expressed her position on Ukraine.

By the way, Dr. Vilma is studying Ukrainian in Florida, while our veterans are currently learning English. It’s no wonder they say, “The more languages you know, the more of a person you are.” So let’s develop, create, and use our opportunities to the fullest!
