During my service in the assault brigade of the 15th Mobile Border Guard Detachment “Steel Border,” I carried out combat missions in various directions and took part in assault operations. After leaving the service, it was important for me to find new goals, adapt to civilian life, and choose a professional path in which I could continue to grow.

I would like to express my immense gratitude to the Academy for Heroes for the opportunity to receive a high-quality IT education, complete an internship, and take a real step toward a new professional future after military service. I studied Full Stack Development — the program is built at a very high level: a lot of practice, modern technologies, mentor support, and continuous skill development.

During the training, we visited the companies ELEKS, TechMagic, EveryMatrix, and Stepico Games — not just tours, but truly valuable meetings with professionals. This is highly motivating, gives an understanding of the real market, and inspires you to keep moving forward. After the internship, I got a job and now work at the IT company Stepico Games.

I sincerely thank the entire team of the Academy for Heroes for your work and contribution to the future of Ukraine’s veterans. You are doing an incredibly important job!

I am a second-year student at Ivan Franko Lviv National University  and work at EveryMatrix as QA & Configuration Manager. I entered the IT field thanks to the Academy for Heroes, where I gained the foundational and practical knowledge needed to work in the industry.

During my time at the Academy I actively developed software testing skills — from manual testing to working with documentation and bug tracking. The Academy also helped me improve my English to a level sufficient for working with international colleagues and technical documentation. I began my career at the company in a TechOps, role, and have since grown into my current position, which encompasses both quality assurance and a range of configuration responsibilities. I am glad that the Academy for Heroes once opened the door to this field for me and I continue to develop actively.

I had not planned to build my future in IT, but my brother sparked my interest in this field and I enrolled in a three-month Python. course. During my studies, I recalled my school-age passion for programming – I had even won awards in competitions back then. That was when I realised I wanted to pursue this direction. I currently work as a design engineer specialising in the design of metal components and structures, so I bring a strong technical background and experience with engineering challenges.

Together with my brother, we are studying on the Data Engineering course at the Academy for Heroes, acquiring modern technical knowledge and practical skills. An equally important part of our learning is the development of soft skills, soft skills, which help us work effectively in a team and better understand people.

We are sincerely grateful to the Academy for Heroes for their support, new opportunities, and for helping veterans in their professional development and adaptation to civilian life.

Thank you for this time spent with our children, for their unforgettable emotions, new achievements in life, and inspiration for future accomplishments. If you have any other training sessions in the future, please let us know — we will be happy to meet with you again!

I am taking courses from Academy for Heroes, where I am studying HTML, CSS, JavaScript, as well as English. This is an incredible opportunity for war veterans to gain a new profession and discover the world of IT.

The program is very well-structured: technical knowledge is presented clearly, with practice and support from instructors, and learning English helps better understand terminology and prepare for working on international projects. The atmosphere in the courses is friendly and supportive, and it is especially pleasant to study among people who understand each other.

The Full Stack course for veterans is a real discovery! If it weren’t for my wife, I probably would never have found out about this opportunity. I signed up a bit on a whim, but now I know for sure — it was the right decision. I even came up with my own project idea that I really want to bring to life.

I want to especially thank Olena for the English course — she teaches exactly what’s needed for IT, without unnecessary academic stuff, and with belief in each of us. And the community — it’s something incredible. If you’re a veteran considering a new profession — give yourself a chance. Or listen to your loved ones — sometimes they see in us what we haven’t yet noticed ourselves.

I am studying at the Center for Veteran Development of Lviv Polytechnic National University under the program “Effective Quality Control in Software IT Project Management”.
